One of the most well-known real estate companies in Minnesota, Coldwell Banker Burnet, is undergoing a name change.

It was announced  that the Minnesota and Wisconsin operations of Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC will now be known as Coldwell Banker Realty.

The change will be enacted at all 24 of its real estate offices across Minnesota and Wisconsin.

The name change is the result of a wider rebranding effort by the parent company, which saw it launch this past September its new "North Star" logo.

It means the shedding of the "Burnet" name, which has been in place since Ralph Burnet sold his real estate company to New Jersey-based National Realty in 1998 – creating Coldwell Banker Burnet in the process.

Burnet, who started Burnet Realty in 1973 and became one of Minnesota's most successful real estate moguls, and retired as the chairman of Coldwell Banker Burnet in 2017.

"This rebranding is the perfect opportunity to identify Coldwell Banker offices in our local communities as one significant presence across the real estate markets in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area, Western Wisconsin, Rochester, St. Cloud and beyond," said Matt Baker, president of Coldwell Banker Realty in Minnesota and Wisconsin, in a statement.

"The Coldwell Banker North Star is a refreshed look and feel, but it also symbolizes the guiding light welcoming home sales associates who want an unparalleled level of support and technology in order to thrive.

"For home buyers and sellers, it represents the absolute pinnacle of service we’re dedicated to providing."

Coldwell's Minnesota operations will now align with the wider company's presence in every major metro market in the country.

The company also claims it'll allow the Minnesota and Wisconsin group to "better harness talent, eliminate operational inefficiencies, and efficiently integrate marketing, products and services for the benefit of sales associates, clients and consumers."

"Our local operating company wouldn’t be the powerhouse it is today without the vision, dedication and leadership of company founder, Ralph Burnet. We thank Ralph for implementing strong company values which will help us to continue thriving
